Small Stuff

Celebrating the small stuff today with my blogging buddies at Faith and Family Live. Come join us and list your Small Successes, too.

1) We are 10 days into our diet experiment with Special K. Life has become so much easier for her, and for us all. The success related to this project this week has been realizing that expecting perfection from her and from the program is asking too much. She was not perfect this week, but I did not despair and give up, nor did I give in and allow the few small episodes escalate into large scale emotional outbursts. I am so proud of her. Situations that would have ended in absolute chaos and emotional collapse were very calmly dealt with and resolved very quickly. We are sticking to the plan, because it really is working.

2) We are in the bedroom this week with the FlyLady. Once again, this is my favorite room to work in and on. The bedding was stripped, washed and replaced. Don't you just love crisp clean sheets?

3) We have finally had a stretch of tolerable weather, hooray! The garden was been weeded and mulched. Hopefully we'll get in some herbs and veggies this weekend.

Hey Mau,

Good job on the Kitty Kat diet. One of the hardest things is putting the emotional outbursts of our children into the appropriate context. I have found that I can respond in just as juvenille way as Jaylee and that's when things spin out of control. Hey when you are working in the garden don't get crop dusting and fertilizing confused...it can lead to a very embarassing experience for everyone! To Stat Nut...thank your mother for not allowing your sister to have the throwing knives or archery set...I know I'm glad my sisters never had one! GO MARINERS!!!!

Love Ya Mau

Your Bro!

Actually, I did end up buying a really cool archery set in place of the throwing knives.
