Vocabulary Lesson
Lil' Wingnut tends to be a bit of a pest in the van. I'm already a white knuckle driver as it is. There is only so much, "Mama? Place request here" a woman can take while captive in a twelve passenger van in DC traffic. Very often I'll hand him my iPhone and let him play one of the games his daddy has uploaded on to it for him especially for those occasions when we are trapped in the van with him.
His newest game is a cute little free app called "Waterslide." Lil' Wingnut loves waterslides and discovered the new game almost immediately after it was handed to him. The point of the game is to maneuver your player down the slide picking up diamonds and avoiding obstacles as quickly as you can, without falling off. Lil' started off pretty well at first and then his man fell off the slide. As he fell the man let out a terrific yell. For some reason, Lil' Wingnut and Special K found this very funny and began to laugh hysterically. The game then deteriorated into getting the man to fall off the slide a quickly as possible so they could hear him scream. They then experimented with having the lady character fall off the slide. The two of them were in absolute stitches over this and you know how that goes, the rest of us were in stitches listening to them giggle.
Later that day, Lil' Wingnut was describing his new game to one of his sisters, "The man goes on the waterslide and then he falls off and he screams. It is so hilarious!"
Hilarious? What three year old uses the word hilarious? That is so hilarious!

I don't know about the screaming in the car/van . . . kudos to you for keeping calm . . . I find that I lose it too often.
Actually, I have a couple of things that I brought back from Costa Rica. One is a marinade for beef and is super simple but absolutely delicious. It's perfect for a tenderloin although pricey. 1C vinegar, 2C Soy, Garlic, and Pepper. Marinade for a day or two. YUMMMMMM -- people are always shocked when I tell them how I've prepared the meat.
Gally Pinto is a favorite breakfast dish, especially served with fried eggs. Every household has its own recipe but the basic follows: black beans, rice (usually leftover from the day before), chopped onion, cilantro, garlic, red pepper, salt and pepper. Combine in skillet with a touch of olive oil. Voila! "Que rico! Cosas mas deliciosa!"
Now -- I want that magazine!!!!
Love to you all! The Godmother
