Small Stuff

After our crazy weekend, I feel like I did not get much accomplished this week. I am still able to come up with three small successes I can toot my horn about. Head on over to Faith and Family Live and add your list.

1) My driver's license is set to expire during our trip back home this summer, so I decided I would go ahead and renew it a little early. I think a root canal would be more enjoyable than a trip to the Motor Vehicle Administration. Painful as it was, I have a new license in hand.

2) Baby Wingnut will be three this month. Now that our schedule has really calmed down and we can afford to stay home for several days, we have begun the potty training process. Thankfully, the little guy is pretty bright and seems to be catching on rather quickly. It helps that big sister made a huge pitcher of iced tea and he is drinking gallons of that resulting in pretty frequent trips to the potty.

3) We finally finished weeding the rest of the garden beds and we put in some annuals to begin with. I am partial to perennials, so the plan is to put in more perennials and bulbs this fall.

Renewing my driver's license is definitely not at the top of my list. I don't know about the employees where you live, but ours are just rude. I've never seen any of them smile. THe way the lady was talking to me last time I went made me feel like a child. Kudos to you for doing it early, too!

That was one of the first things we noticed when we moved. Our DMV was absolutely amazing! Small, the employees were so good natured. They smiled and said good morning. One even had a small holy card of Jesus on their window. Even the other patrons were happy to be there. That was the moment we decided that we may stay here forever!

I really dislike having to go to the DMV, too. The last time I went I had to wrangle a child who was in the middle of a tantrum (the picture is just priceless). Add to that the frustration that here in NJ I need to show several forms of ID (this is kind of hard when you are a SAHM) and you have one fun time! Not looking forward to 2013 when I have to go back.

Great job with the potty training. K is pretty stubborn with it. We have started, though I have not been as diligent as I need to be with it.

I don't know what you are talking about Mau...I think the DMV is a wonderful place that challenges Disneyland as the happiest place on earth. Where else can you go to get that penitentiary feel mixed in with BO and boredom...good times! Remember at the DMV in Spokane when we first got our license??? We had to look at Yogi for our picture since we weren't 21. BW getting his potty trained...go my fine young nephew and sink those Cheerios!!! I can't believe he is turning 3...time flies. I really have nothing to say about your garden except to keep me away from it...I tend to kill plants and have zero knowledge about the difference between an annual and a perennial. Time is getting closer for your visit and I am really stoked to see you all!!!

Love ya Mau
