Creamy Tomato Bacon Salad Dressing

Ken's Steakhouse makes a delicious version of a creamy tomato and bacon salad dressing. I thought I'd give creating a similar homemade version a try. It has very few ingredients, is super simple to mix up, and was absolutely delicious. Served over a Smoked Turkey BLT Salad, it was a cool and creamy summer hit for dinner last night.

Creamy Tomato Bacon Salad Dressing

1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 medium sized ripe red tomato, cut into chunks
1 TBSP bacon drippings
2 TBSP fresh squeezed lemon juice
salt and pepper to taste

Blend all ingredients in a blender until smooth and creamy.

I was doing a google search on Ken's creamy tomato bacon dressing and stumbled upon this website. This dressing is no longer available where I live and I'm so disappointed because we love it so much. Just made your homemade version and my family was so pleased with the result. Thanks so much for posting an alternative to our favorite dressing!

Ken's discontinued this dressing in 2011. Because I couldn't find it in the stores, I had been ordering it directly from the company for some time. I had one bottle left but it was so old it had gone bad. However, I checked the ingredients and to your recipe I added a tiny bit of paprika, a very little onion and a clove of garlic, all ingredients in the original. It's a good substitute and healthier!

So pleased to see this recipe! I loved Ken's version so much I tried to google it several years ago when I couldn't find it at any of my local grocers, only to find it'd been discontinued. Now for the last week I've been craving an old spinach salad recipe I used to make that was always a smash at church dinners. Looking forward to trying this on it tonight!
